As 2025 comes to an end, we would like to take this moment to deeply thank every person and institution that has been part of our journey this year.
Our work unfolded across two continents, and we are incredibly proud of the progress and results we achieved together.
🌍 Europe
🇵🇹 Portugal – Lisbon
We had the honor of showcasing AtacamaScope at Web Summit Lisbon 2025, with the support of ProChile. It was a unique opportunity to connect with key players from the technology and innovation ecosystem who share our vision for science, education, and technology.
We would like to especially thank Alexandra Baeza Neira and Ruth Sanhueza Figueroa for their professionalism and constant support, and Nico Maynetto, who represented the AtacamaScope team impeccably in Portugal.
Also in Lisbon, I had the honor of participating in the Alchemy of Woman event, where I was interviewed by its founder, Mira Kopanarov. It was a deeply inspiring space that invites women to reconnect with their inner power, intuition, and creative energy, transforming lived experiences into conscious leadership.
Thank you, Mira, for the invitation — that coffee in Toronto is still pending!

🇪🇸 Spain – Catalonia
Representing the AtacamaScope team, I took part in the LearnUp technology education program in Catalonia. It was a highly enriching experience, sharing with Spanish EdTech companies and receiving mentorship from experts across the ecosystem.
The program concluded with awards, and to our surprise, we were selected as one of the winners: a six-month acceleration with SEK Lab EdTech Accelerator, which will help us connect Canada with the Spanish market and open a gateway to the European EdTech ecosystem.
Our sincere thanks to Marta Ollé Terrés, Laia Lluch Molins, and Natxo Armenter Usarraga for trusting our commitment to space sciences.

🌎 Americas
🇨🇦 Canada
My new home.
I would like to highlight our participation in the premiere of the documentary How She Dare, where I was invited as the founder of a Canadian company. This documentary powerfully reflects the inner strength of women pursuing their dreams and goals.
I also participated in a workshop created specifically for female founders, sharing space with truly inspiring women. Thank you to Zoonie and Victoria Bacani for this meaningful invitation, which came through Global Startup — an organization that has been fundamental to our journey in Canada. Without them, we quite literally would not be here.
Another key milestone was our participation in the science teachers’ conference STAO Celebrates 2025. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with educators, exchange ideas, and showcase how AtacamaScope supports STEM education with a focus on Earth and space sciences.
Thank you to Nathalie Rudner and the entire STAO team for trusting our proposal, and to my dear Ritu Jhaveri for her continued support during this conference.
Finally, we submitted our video game to the WINGS Interactive Awards. Although we applied with an Alpha version and did not advance to the next stage, the experience was extremely valuable. It allowed us to learn, better understand the standards of this emerging educational field, and further strengthen the project. This step motivates us to keep pushing forward and to apply again next year with more experience, maturity, and confidence.
✨ Exciting developments are coming for Canada in 2026.

🇲🇽 Mexico
I participated in a pitch competition where the Top 10 education technology and innovation companies from Latin America competed to represent the region at the GES Awards 2026.
While we did not win, reaching the Top 10 was a significant achievement. Thanks to the positive feedback from the jury, we were invited to exhibit at the IFE Conference at Tecnológico de Monterrey this coming January.
This will be an intense working trip focused on education, innovation, investment, and cultural exchange — a true recognition of resilience and of our mission: to reduce the science gap, especially for girls.

🇨🇱 Chile
My roots.
This year, we took a major step forward in our educational pilots with Colegio Territorio Antártico in San Miguel, where 4th-grade students actively participated in Earth and space science classes using AtacamaScope, alongside teacher Osvaldo Miranda.
Witnessing the curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking of young students is truly inspiring.
We sincerely thank teachers Jorge Villalobos, Claudio Argandoña, and school principal Tomás Huerta for trusting that science can be immersive, engaging, and transformative.

We also expanded our virtual education project into the world of video games — a complex and exciting challenge. Imagine bringing together the expertise of an astronomer, an elementary school teacher, a software engineer, a specialized video game development team, and an innovation expert, all blended into one creative process.
The result is a space-themed video game where students learn Earth and space science concepts in a simple and entertaining way: students fly spacecraft and play, while teachers gain access to meaningful insights and data on learning progress.
It is a demanding challenge, but it is precisely this complexity that motivates us to keep moving forward every day with conviction, creativity, and purpose.
We welcome 2026 with excitement and determination. It will be a key year, marked by the launch of Kuyen: A Stellar Journey, new classroom validation processes, and the development of a scientific publication that will allow us to share evidence-based results of our educational impact.

🚀 Our Team
Finally, what inspires us most: our people.
Throughout this year, we have worked with an extraordinary team on the development of our space-themed educational video game for elementary and secondary education, supported by the Chilean Ministry of Science. We would like to especially thank the Mezcla team — not only for their technical excellence, but also for creating a collaborative and positive working environment that we truly value. Because it’s not all work — we also have fun along the way!

Atacamito has been our main character and guiding star. Thank you to Luis, Cami, Juan, and the entire development team bringing Kuyen Game to life.
We also thank the AtacamaScope team — Felipe, Osvaldo, Nico, Isaias, Adriana — our directors Eduardo Jadue and Juliana Montoya, and ANID (National Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Science of the Government of Chile) for trusting this project.
We continue working every day to contribute our small grain of sand to the world, proving that science can indeed be learned through play.
AtacamaScope began with robotic telescopes in northern Chile, and today it is a solid educational company supporting teachers and students in Earth and space sciences.
We close 2025 with gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
See you in 2026. 🚀
By Paz
